- The Golden Horse Film Festival opens with A Foggy Tale by CHEN Yu-hsun. For a total of 457 screenings, there are 190 films from 52 countries/regions, along with 115 post-screening Q&A, 8 Filmmaker’s Talk, 4 “KOJIMA HIDEO: Game ╳ Film” Talk Series, 4 Cinema Talk, and attendances of over 350 filmmakers domestic or overseas. Ticket sales reach nearly 80 percent.
- The “Actor in Focus” section shines a spotlight on Japanese actor NISHIJIMA Hidetoshi. Additionally, there is a tribute dedicated to American director Robert REDFORD, as well as a special program devoted to French director Leos CARAX.
The “Filmmakers' Talk” event features luminaries such as Ang LEE, Leos CARAX, Ari ASTER, HOSODA Mamoru, NISHIJIMA Hidetoshi, BAE Doona, Gints ZILBALODIS, and the Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree CHEN Shu-Fang. Japanese director Yuriyan Retriever's debut feature, Mag Mag received the NETPAC Awards. - Golden Horse Film Project Promotion (FPP) selected 64 projects (including 38 FPP Projects, 12 Work-In-Progress Projects and 14 Series Projects), having 1,730 one-on-one meetings with 137 companies/organizations. Director Ellis CHAN Ka-yin's animation project Wilderness of the Greenriver won the Grand Prize. FPP Workshop invited ONG Uilin, Sam YUAN Tzu-hsiang, Olive TING, LO I-li as pitching trainers, CHAN Wai and HO Shing-ming as screenwriting trainers while Elaine CHU, Anthony CHEN, and LIU Wei-jan as FPP Final-stage Jury.
- 9 talents out of 268 submissions completed Golden Horse Film Academy graduation. The film academy is led by dean LIAO Ching-sung, and Oliver CHAN Siu-kuen served as a mentor. CHEN Yu-hsuan and TSAI Ming-hsiu were invited to participate in the film. The talents finished one short film Expansion.
- Golden Horse Master Class assembled renowned actors NISHIJIMA Hidetoshi, BAE Doo-na as well as several Academy Awards winners and veteran filmmakers, including composer Alexandre DESPLAT, costume designer Mark BRIDGES, production designer Patrice VERMETTE, director-writer Gints ZILBALODIS, director KIM Won-suk, acting coach Jean-Louis RODRIGUE, casting director Deborah AQUILA and colorist PARK Jin-young. 10 world-class maestros share their knowledge and expertise with 603 attending filmmakers.
- The 62nd Golden Horse Awards Ceremony takes place at Taipei Music Center. With no host for the ceremony, the red carpet is co-hosted by Pink YANG, Jake HSU and Payne PENG. There are 593 submissions to this year's competition and the jury is chaired by film editor and executive producer LIAO Ching-sung. A Foggy Tale won four awards including Best Narrative Feature; Best Leading Actor goes to CHANG Chen for Lucky Lu, Best Leading Actress goes to FAN Bingbing for Mother Bhumi. Canadian-Korean director Lloyd Lee CHOI becomes the first non-Chinese winner in the Best New Director category.
