Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival has been the glory and index in the world of Chinese films for years. Each year, in Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, except honoring those remarkable Chinese films, it also provides the best platform for Chinese filmmakers to communicate with each other.

• To inherit the best creator’s creative views and concepts
  Founded by director HOU Hsiao-hsien, with LIAO Ching-sung as the dean, and the best Chinese filmmakers as teachers to sharing their experiences and concepts for Chinese filmmakers all around the world. At the same time, there are individual guidance and instruction to broaden Chinese filmmakers’ horizon.
• To promote future film stars’ communication and cooperation
  Besides the lessons, potential filmmakers will be strictly selected to practice the whole set of filming process with outstanding film director as personal instructor. During this around one-month practice, filmmakers will closely cooperate and communicate with each other. The new possibilities of future Chinese film will thus be brought out.

• Film Production to make a short film in order to know the whole set of film production process. The process includes casting, location scouting, script discussion, discussion about visual effect, shooting, shooting schedule development, editing, mixing, and dimming and so on. Golden Horse Film Academy will arrange a film crew to assist participants in shooting.
• Master lectures & workshops we will invite Chinese film master to share their experience for all participants.
• Personal instruction many outstanding directors will be invited as instructors to instruct participants personally and give suggestions for individual creation.
• Exhibition Films completed during GHFA will be shown in the special screening event at Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival.
• Attending screenings to watch other films at Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival after GHFA premiere.
• Non-local selected participants will receive a certain amount of air-ticket allowance. (the detail instruction will be given after the selection)

• Submission period：June 1 - June 30, 2025 (The online submission system will close at GMT+8 18:00)
• Selected Talents Annoucement：Mid September, 2025
• Program Dates：October 20 - November 22, 2025 (Script and production conference will begin via internet from October)

• Chinese filmmakers who are passionate for films and fluent in Mandarin.
• Experience: The scriptwriter, director, or cinematographer who made more than two narrative short films, and the position of short films need to be identical with “Position” in the submission form.
• Full participation is required.

• Please visit Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival official website (www.goldenhorse.org.tw) for online submission. 
• Fill in the application form with the link to the cloud folder where you can download the files and include the following files (Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, Vimeo space are recommended)

1. Two of your film works available for download (subtitle in Chinese or English is needed if the film was not dubbed in Chinese). Links for online viewing only are not accepted, and set download permission to GHFA(ghfa@goldenhorse.org.tw). File specifications: 1920 x 1080, mov or mp4, the file size of short film does not exceed 1GB, and the file size of feature film does not exceed 2GB.
2. Resume (in Chinese and should not be longer than one page) including self-introduction, personal experience, your art preference as a scriptwriter/director/cinematographer, etc.
3. One recent personal photo.
4. Screenwriter applicants must attach the script of the work in addition to the completed work.

• After finishing submission, you would receive a registration payment notice letter with a payment link.
• Submission fee for every applicant is TWD 1,000. Only online credit card payment is accepted . The submission will not be accepted if applicant fails to complete the payment before the deadline. Once the credit card payment is completed, refund would not be accepted.

• If needed, there will be a phone or online interview.
• All selected talents are required to be fully involved in the program including all courses and shooting.
• If the talent fails to abide by the regulations of Golden Horse Film Academy, would be automatically disqualified from the Film Academy entry and forfeits any related rights and privileges.
• More details about the program and information coming to Taiwan will be notified after the selection is announced.
• Most of the program will be held in Mandarin. If you are unable to communicate in Mandarin, please do not submit.
• The copyright of the film completed during GHFA will belong to Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival Executive Committee.
