Drowning by Numbers
Drowning by Numbers is a tale of three women of the same name, who drown their husbands in the same way, and their motive is dissatisfaction. They're confident that their crimes will not be punished because the coroner is in love with them. Eventually, the coroner is outmanoeuvred by the women, who resolve their difficulties in an amoral ending.

Peter GREENAWAY was born in Newport, Wales in 1942 and was educated in London. On graduating he worked as a fine artist and editor at the British government’s Central Office of Information. He directed numerous short films and documentaries, which came to international attention. In his work he has often collaborated withcomposers such as Philip Glass, John Cage and Michael Nyman.His feature debut The Draughtsman’s Contract signalled his international breakthrough as a director. Alongside his films, he has also created numerous installations and multimedia projects. |
