Loulou

Young bourgeois Nelly is married to her boss André, whose domineering personality she finds suffocating. Nelly has a fling with Loulou, a petty crook. Soon she leaves her husband and moves in with the street thug. Her social respectability deteriorates as she moves from one world to another, discovering in the process that neither really offers her any sort of lasting fulfilment.

Maurice Pialat
Maurice PIALAT was born on 31 August 1925 in Puy-de-Dôme, France and grew up in Paris. He studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs and the École des Beaux Arts. As a film director, he was known for his non-conformity, which led to difficulties in obtaining finance, and he wrote and directed just ten features, of which at least half were masterworks. Their primary concerns were childhood and family, and Pialat drew on his own experiences to present unyielding portraits of familial cruelty and infidelity. He died on 11 January 2003 in Paris, France.
