Jinsei

The story portrays the intriguing yet sorrowful life of a bullied boy who, after a chance encounter with a transfer student, dreams of becoming an idol like his late father. A fantastic journey unfolds, with a view no one has ever seen. Set against social issues such as show biz's darker sides, youth deaths, and war, Suzuki Ryuya single-handedly created this lo-fi, visionary work of striking originality.

SUZUKI Ryuya

Suzuki Ryuya, born in 1994 in Sendai, originally aspired to make live-action films but turned to self-taught animation during COVID-19, resulting in two acclaimed independent shorts, Mahoroba and Lawless Love. His feature-length animation debut, Jinsei, competed in Annecy's Contrechamp section.
