2014, Yan arrived in Peng Chau, a small island in Hong Kong, in search of her long-lost friend Chun Yin and the food shop "Ka On Yuen" (means "a peaceful home") operated by him. In the course of searching, she unfolded a touching and extraordinary love story and discovered her connection with it…
Time went back to the summer of 1992. Chun Yin and his sister, Wai Yin, operated a small food shop "Ka On Yuen" in Peng Chau. A simple and innocent lad, Chun Yin enjoyed playing his guitar and singing under the tree outside Ka On Yuen, though on one in Peng Chau appreciated his talent. He was longing for the day that someone recognised his music and meeting the love of his life. One day, Chun Yin went to see movie in the town and met a beautiful ticket-selling girl, Wong Ka Yan. They spent a night together in the quiet cinema due to an unexpected incident. Chun Yin fell in love with Wong Ka Yan and promised to write her a song.
The next day, Chun Yin told Paul, his good friend and a fisherman in Peng Chau, about the romantic encountering. Paul persuaded Chun Yin to go back to the cinema and expressed his love to Wong Ka Yan. Chun Yin went to the cinema for Wong Ka Yan but was in vain. She had quitted the job and no one knew where she had gone. Chun Yin regretted that he had not asked for her phone number and did not come back for her immediately after that night. He was determined to find Wong Ka Yan, not wanting to lose another chance. It was not easy to locate a person in a time without advanced technology and internet. The only clue Chun Yin had was her name- Wong Ka Yan. Chun Yin went around the town with his guitar in search of Wong Ka Yan-he waited in the cinema, sang songs he wrote about Wong Ka Yan in busy streets, and called all those with the surname Wong in the White Pages (a domestic telephone directory). Chun Yin met countless "Wong Ka Yans" with different ages and background, among them included an unpopular detective and a foreign guitarist living in Hong Kong. In the course of searching, Chun Yin's music talent and endurance for love impressed many Wong Ka Yans and brought them life-changing impact. Nevertheless, no one was the Wong Ka Yan he was looking for.
One of the Wong Ka Yans, Yan Yan, was a spoiled young woman. She discouraged and teased Chun Yin in the beginning but was later impressed by Chun Yin's determination. She joined him in searching Wong Ka Yan and secretly fell in love with Chun Yin. Yet, as Yan Yan discovered and unveil the secret of Wong Ka Yan, her relationship with Chun Yin faced tremendous challenges…
At the same time, due to the competition of a new Western restaurant opened in Peng Chau, Ka On Yuen was forced to close. In the farewell party, Chun Yin met with numerous Wong Ka Yans that he had came across in the past and happily spent his last night in Peng Chau…
