Golden Horse FPP aims to promote collaboration between Chinese filmmakers and international industry professionals, as well as to increase the visibility of Taiwan and Chinese-language film production. Projects are selected based on quality, creativity, and market viability. Participating filmmakers are invited to attend a closed three-day conference, where they meet with potential partners in one-on-one pitching sessions.
A FPP entry project must meet the following requirements:
- Full-length (running time 60 minutes or more) feature film, documentary or animation project aiming for theatrical or online streaming service release.
- The project is filmed in Chinese, or attached with Ethnic Chinese Director/Producer or shot on location in Taiwan.
- The project has an attached production company, producer, and director.
- The project may be at any stage of pre-production at time of entry. The project completed before the 2025 FPP is not eligible. (For projects that are in progress before June, 2025, please see submission guidelines for the WIP section).
- The attached director, producer/executive producer MUST be able to attend the FPP 2025 events thoroughly.
- The project director can only submit a FPP project and a WIP project at one time.
- Each Executive Producer/Producer can only be attached to in total of 3 submitted FPP/WIP projects at most.
- Projects that have not been submitted or selected for other project markets and pitching platforms for the current year will be given priority consideration.
- For the Golden Horse FPP Project Submission, a submission fee is required of NTD 1,500 per project, the submission fee should be paid online upon receipt of approval confirmation email; once the transaction is completed, no refund shall be claimed due to personal reasons.
- All FPP projects must be represented by, for the entire duration of the FPP 2025, both the director and the producer (or the executive producer) attached to the FPP Project. If either the director or the producer attached to the FPP Project is unable to attend the Golden Horse FPP 2025, the Project is automatically disqualified to compete for the grand prize and forfeits any and all related rights and privileges.
- Golden Horse FPP reserves the rights to refuse to accept submissions in the case of insufficient or false information, ineligibility, or failure to make the full payment.
- Golden Horse FPP will approve the online submission depending whether the entry project information is complete and eligible. It may take up to 3 business days for the confirmation process.
- In case of violation to the regulations, Golden Horse FPP reserves the right to disqualify the project from conference entry.
To enter, please fill out the FPP online entry form at Online Submission from June 1 to July 15, including:
- Logline (Chinese: 50 word limit; English: 30 word limit)
- Project synopsis (Chinese: 300 word limit; English: 200 word limit)
- Production statement (Chinese: 200 word limit; English: 100 word limit)
- Treatment (Chinese: 2500 word limit; English: 1200 word limit)
- Project status
- Target audience (Chinese: 50 word limit; English: 30 word limit)
- Goal for entering the FPP 2025
- Director, Screenwriter, Producer’s profile (Chinese: 90 word limit; English: 40 word limit)
- Director, Screenwriter, Producer’s photo (file must be larger than 100K, smaller than 1M)
- Production company’s profile (Chinese: 150 word limit; English: 100 word limit)
- Copy of company license (file must be smaller than 1M)
- Production budget overview (please use the online Budget Overview Form)
- Director’s previous work (please provide download link and password for ONE work; not required if it’s non applicable). File format: resolution 1280*720, size not exceeding 2GB, MP4 format.
- Authorization agreement of the adapted screenplay (Not required for original screenplay. Please submit this documentation after selected as official 2025 Selected Projects.)
★ All entry project information must be submitted in both Chinese and English.
★ In addition to the above items, other supported materials will not be included in assessment.
The online submission system will open at 10:00 (GMT+8:00), June 1, 2025 and close at 18:00 (GMT+8:00), July 15, 2025. No late submissions will be accepted.
The official list of the FPP 2025 Selected Projects will be announced in September, 2025 on the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival official website. The FPP 2025 prize-winning projects will be revealed on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at the FPP Closing Ceremony.
To encourage exemplary film projects, the jury will evaluate project entries based on the written and audio-visual materials provided, as well as on the progress of the pitching sessions during the FPP event. The Grand Prize winner, who will receive a cash prize of TWD 1,000,000, will be presented at the FPP Closing Ceremony along with the other awards. The complete award list will be announced on the website before the event starts.
- Where applicable, all entry project information must be submitted in both Chinese and English; entry projects failing to do so are considered incomplete and ineligible.
- An entry project is considered incomplete until the FPP Committee receives the submission fee.
- Projects selected by the FPP 2025 must display the FPP logo in the opening or closing of the final film, and show “Golden Horse FPP 2025 Official Selection” as part of the film’s official credits. Participating projects must comply with this rule and with all other related regulations set forth by the FPP.
- All FPP Projects receiving additional awards or honors during the Golden Horse FPP 2025 must display the FPP and other awards logo in the opening or closing of the final film as official credits. Awarded projects must comply with this rule and with all other related regulations set forth by the FPP.
- Selected Projects must sign and return the official agreement within 7 days after receiving the official announcement letters of the FPP 2025 Selected Projects. Selected Projects failing to sign and return the official agreement is considered as a withdrawal from the Golden Horse FPP 2025 without further notice.
- For the Cash Prize, a 20 percent tax deduction is required for foreign award recipients; for Taiwan national award recipients, a 10 percent tax deduction is required. In both cases, the tax will be deducted directly from the total award amount.
- Submitted materials will not be returned.
- The FPP Committee reserves the right to amend and/or change the rules and related information for the Golden Horse FPP 2025.
