Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival Executive Committee announced today (October 17^th) the Chair of the Jury for the 59^th Golden Horse Awards will be served by renowned director Ann HUI. Ann agreed with no hesitation upon receiving the invitation and noted, “I’d serve with the utmost passion for cinema throughout my whole life”. She has been nominated seven times for Best Director at Golden Horse, and won the awards three times with Ordinary Heroes, A Simple Life and The Golden Era. Ann also received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at Venice Film Festival in 2020. Ann HUI will be joined by Golden Horse Awards winners – actress GWEI Lun-mei, actor CHANG Chen, director CHENG Wei-hao and producer YEH Jufeng – as well as cinematographer YU Jing-pin to comprise the final stage jury.

The winners will be jointly voted by the six final stage jurors, plus the eleven shortlist stage jurors who decided the nominees: CHOU I-wen (cinematographer), CHIU Li-wei (animation director), Silver CHEUNG (production designer), CHANG Jung-chi (director), CHANG Yao-sheng (screenwriter/director), Allen LEUNG Chin-lun (editor), HUANG Hui-chen (documentary filmmaker and producer), Essay LIU (screenwriter), Henry TSAI Tsung-han (screenwriter/director), Penny TSAI Pei-ling (production designer), and Henry LAI (composer). These seventeen jurors will vote on the day of the awarding ceremony to finalize this year’s Golden Horse Awards winners.

The Committee also reveals the preliminary stage jurors, for Narrative Feaure: WU Lo-ying, CHANG Yao-sheng, Jacqueline W. LIU, LOU Yi-an and Henry TSAI Tsung-han; for Documentary: WANG Yae-wei, WANG Wan-jo, WU Yu-ying, HSU Che-chia and HUANG Hui-chen; for Animation: CHIU Yu-feng, CHANG Yen-jung and Sanvy HSIEH; for Live Action Short Film: LEE Yi-shan, LIN Shih-ken, CHANG San-ling, Joseph HSU Chen-chieh, Oliver CHAN Siu-kuen and YANG Chih-lin. All the nominated films will be screened at the Golden Horse Film Festival starting from November 2^nd; tickets for sale from October 22^nd. The awarding ceremony of the 59^th Golden Horse Awards will be held at National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei on November 19^th, live broadcast on TTV channel; streaming available exclusively on MyVideo, with collaborative broadcast by LINE TODAY.
