FIPRESCI – The International Federation of Film Critics

Aimed to promote film-art and to particularly encourage new and young cinema, FIPRESCI is the international nongovernmental organization. Founded de facto in 1925 by French and Belgian journalists and officially registered on June 6, 1930, FIPRESCI now has members in 60 countries worldwide. FIPRESCI has consolidated its position as an exceptionally authoritative professional organization of very strong influence on the modern international cinematic process. In the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, the FIPRESCI Prize will be given to encourage the outstanding new and young Chinese-language cinema.

Melis BEHLIL

Associate Professor of Cinema Studies and Chair of Radio, Television and Cinema Department at Kadir Has University in Istanbul, Turkey. Behlil also writes film reviews for various publications, co-hosts a weekly radio show, and is a member of the Turkish Film Critics Association, of which she has served as president in 2014-15.

 

Grant WATSON

Melbourne-based Australian film critic and writer. His reviews have appeared in FilmInk, VCinema, Out in Perth, and his own website FictionMachine. He was formerly the Screen Events Manager at Western Australia's Film & Television Institute, where he curated short film festivals and retrospectives. Grant has a special interest in Chinese and Japanese language cinema. As a playwright Grant has written several plays including Degree Absolute, Serpentine, and the award-winning Cry Havoc. 

 

Ross Chu-Jen CHEN

Hong Kong-based editor and film critic, and a member of the Hong Kong Film Critics Society. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and in 2002 he founded LoveHKFilm.com, a website that now hosts over 2000 English-language reviews of contemporary Hong Kong and Asian film. Chen also writes regularly for the Hong Kong International Film Festival, the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival and the Udine Far East Film Festival.
