Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival announces the nominees for the 58th Golden Horse Awards on October 5th. The nominees are selected from the 573 submissions this year (66 feature films, 2 animated feature film, 52 documentaries, 296 live action short films, 87 documentary short films, 70 animated short films). The Red Carpet will be hosted by Pink YANG and Jake HSU. The nominees are announced by Golden Horse Awards winners, Best Leading Actress HSIEH Ying-xuan and Best New Performer CHEN Yan-fei.

Drifting leads the race with 12 nods, followed by The Falls, The Soul and Till We Meet Again, each with 11 nods; the four films compete in Best Narrative Feature and multiple acting categories, and three of them in Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Nominees for Best Leading Actor are CHENG Jen-shuo (Gatao - The Last Stray), CHANG Chen (The Soul), Roy CHIU (Man in Love), Francis NG (Drifting), and Kai KO (Moneyboys).

Nominees for Best Leading Actress are CHEN Shiang-chyi (Increasing Echo), Alyssa CHIA (The Falls), Gingle WANG (The Falls), Karena LAM (American Girl) and Caitlin FANG (American Girl).

CEO of the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival Executive Committee WEN Tiang-hsien announces that the Outstanding Taiwanese Filmmaker of the Year Award goes to texture artist Frank CHEN, who leads the Frank Creation Co., Ltd. that contributed to nine of the nominated films this year.

All nominated films will be screened at the Golden Horse Film Festival starting from November 11th; tickets for sale from October 30th. The 58th Golden Horse Awards Ceremony will be held on November 27th at National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei.
