Nominees of the 63^rd Golden Horse Awards are announced today, October 1^st. This year, the Committee received 587 submissions to the competition (92 narrative features, 60 documentary features, 3 animated features, 294 live action short films, 71 documentary short films and 67 animated short films). The full list of nominees is announced by MA Shih-yuan and Jimmy LIU, winner and nominee of the 62^nd Golden Horse Awards Best New Performer, respectively.

Arrested Memory leads the competition with eleven nominations, followed by Girl with ten nominations; Double Happiness and We Are Born Good both earned nine nominations as well. All four films are nominated Best Narrative Feature and Best Film Editing, as well as in one of the directing categories (Best Director/Best New Director).

Nominees for Best Leading Actor are Leon DAI (Kung Fu), LIU Kuan-ting (Double Happiness), YEUNG Wai-lun (We Are Born Good), Ethan JUAN (Arrested Memory) and Jack TAN (Dead Tide).

Nominees for Best Leading Actress are Angela YUEN (Afterpiece), Jennifer YU (Double Happiness), LIANG Cuishan (Big Little Things), CHUNG Suet-ying (We Are Born Good) and YEO Yann-yann (We Are All Strangers).

CEO of Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival Executive Committee, WEN Tien-hsiang, also announced the recipient of this year’s Outstanding Taiwanese Filmmaker of the Year – Moya CHOU. Moya CHOU has worked in the professional field of color grading for nearly thirty years, throughout the film era to digital medium. He works closely with directors and DPs to sort out exquisite layers of lights and colors, so as to bring out the stories of varied times, circumstances, ethnic groups and cultural backgrounds. These delicate and refined works shape the space for visual creativity, on a realistic base. His significant works include Us and Them, Dear Ex, i WEiRDO, The Soul, The Pig, The Snake and The Pigeon and A Foggy Tale. This year he also participated in SAYANG, The Age of Goodbyes and The Photo from 1977.

Voting procedures of the 63^rd Golden Horse Awards are carried out in three stages: preliminary, nomination and final. Winners of the awards will be voted on the day of the awarding ceremony, November 22^nd. The jury lineup will be announced in late October.

All nominated films will be screened at the Golden Horse Film Festival, which begins on November 6^th; tickets for sale from October 25^th. Voting for the Audience Choice Award will be held on November 7^th and 8^th at Hualien Railway Cinema, Image Museum of Hsinchu City and Neiwei Arts Center simultaneously. The 63^rd Golden Horse Awards Ceremony will be held on November 22^nd at Taipei Music Center. Starting from this year, the ceremony will be on Sunday, instead of Saturday. The Red Carpet starts at 17:00 and the awarding ceremony at 18:30. For audiences in Taiwan, live broadcast will be available on TTV channel, live streaming exclusively on MyVideo by Taiwan Mobile. International audiences can watch the live broadcast on StarHub (Singapore) and Astro (Malaysia); viewers from other countries/regions can watch it on TGHFF YouTube channel.
